Now the simple My Name Label business is also run in the UK and Germany by women who also wanted to run their own small simple business.

My Name Label is founded on the philosophy of making life simple. And that same philosophy is how we all want our customers to feel when they use our product – that life is a little simpler.
From the beginning...
At home with 3 kids under 4 years of age, a young Australian mum concerned about her ability to hold an adult conversation and lamenting the speed with which her career was becoming a figment of her imagination, chanced upon a simple idea that she herself needed. Not her own, she will be the first to confess, but one which she felt could be improved upon and something people actually needed. Personalised name labels. So, in 1998 she decided to start a simple, small business providing other mums with a simple solution to naming their kids things. It grew.
To begin with the business was all mail order.
Then the internet arrived, followed soon after by on-line shopping (it seems so long ago now). But there was always one goal – to manage it all from home. To be able to drop everything and pick the kids up from school, administer Panadol when they were sick and help bake cupcakes for school (yes they could still take cakes to school back then).

And she only makes labels, nothing else.
All the labels start by being designed by a real person - they are not computer generated. Well OK, a computer is used to make the design but a graphic designer controls the process not a machine. She has a small and devoted team of women who design, print and pack every label and help her get the orders out the door. If you phone My Name Label you never know who will pick up the phone because we all wear many hats.

And unsurprisingly, there are women around the world who are keen to find work-life balance. So the My Name Label business model was shared with others and My Name Label mini-me’s have been created in the UK and Germany. And guess what - we all love where we work - from home!

Our Philosophy
Her philosophy has always been to keep things simple and deliver a product that she herself needed and service that met her own expectations. So the label designs are simple and no fuss. Enough label styles and sizes to label everything and enough choice of design elements to let the kids (or mum) make choices but not so many that it all becomes overwhelming. She also understands the word busy. So as a priority the website is simple and fast to use – you can place your order before one of the kids calls you to come and wipe their bottom!
And she only makes labels.
Not puzzles, not school bags, not T-Shirts, not bottles. Her home is not a warehouse and she does not run a large manufacturing business. One business many hats
She has a small and devoted team of women who design, print and pack every label and help her get the orders out the door. If you phone My Name Label you never know who will pick up the phone because they don’t have a receptionist. It could be the customer service manager, the accountant, the marketing manager, the production manager, the graphic designer, the HR manager or the tea lady – we are all one and the same, just like in any small business. And if you ever call and want to talk to the boss you probably already are because she answers the phone too. But it is only with the help of other dedicated women that My Name Label exists. The business has been blessed with a long standing team who love to help make things easier for families.
